Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our prop trading program.

Getting Started

Basic questions about our program and how it works

What is Eternal Funding and how does prop trading work?
Eternal Funding is a proprietary trading firm that provides skilled traders with capital to trade financial markets. Unlike retail trading where you risk your own money, prop trading allows you to trade with our capital. We provide the funds, you provide the trading skills, and we share the profits. We offer funded accounts ranging from $3,000 to $60,000 with an 80% profit split. This model eliminates personal financial risk while giving you access to significant trading capital and professional infrastructure.
How do I get started with Eternal Funding?
Getting started is straightforward: 1) Create a free account on our platform, 2) Choose your account size ($3K, $7.5K, $15K, $30K, or $60K) and pay the evaluation fee ($30-$240), 3) Access your evaluation account through EternalTrader platform, 4) Complete Phase 1 (8% profit target) and Phase 2 (4% profit target), 5) Get funded and start earning with 80% profit split. The entire process can be completed at your own pace with no time restrictions on the standard challenge.
What account sizes are available and what are the fees?
We offer five account sizes: $3,000 (fee: $30), $7,500 (fee: $60), $15,000 (fee: $90), $30,000 (fee: $150), and $60,000 (fee: $240). All accounts follow the same two-phase evaluation process: Phase 1 requires 8% profit target, Phase 2 requires 4% profit target. Maximum drawdown is 10% for all standard accounts, with a 5% daily loss limit. Once funded, you receive 80% of all profits with weekly payouts. The evaluation fee is a one-time payment that gives you unlimited time to complete both phases.
Do I need prior trading experience?
While prior trading experience is beneficial, it's not strictly required. However, we recommend having a solid understanding of financial markets, risk management, and trading strategies before starting. Our evaluation process is designed to identify skilled traders who can consistently generate profits while managing risk. We provide educational resources, market analysis, and trading guides to help you succeed. Many successful traders start with basic knowledge and develop their skills through our platform.

Evaluation Process

Understanding the two-phase challenge system

How does the two-phase evaluation process work in detail?
Phase 1 - Strategy Test: You must achieve an 8% profit target from your starting balance. For example, on a $15,000 account, you need to reach $16,200. During this phase, you cannot exceed 10% maximum drawdown or 5% daily loss limit. There are no time restrictions - take as long as you need. Once Phase 1 is complete, you automatically progress to Phase 2.

Phase 2 - Consistency Check: You must achieve a 4% profit target from your Phase 1 starting balance. Using the same example, you'd need to reach $15,600 on your $15,000 account. The same risk limits apply. This phase demonstrates you can maintain consistent performance. Upon completion, you receive your funded account with real capital and 80% profit split.
Is there a time limit to complete the evaluation?
Our Standard evaluation has no time restrictions - you can take as long as you need to complete both phases. This allows you to trade at your own pace, develop your strategy, and avoid the pressure of artificial deadlines. However, we also offer a Quick Challenge option with a 30-day time limit for traders who prefer a faster-paced evaluation. The Quick Challenge has slightly different requirements (10% Phase 1 target, 6% max drawdown) but offers an 85% profit split upon funding. Choose the option that best fits your trading style.
What happens if I fail the evaluation?
If you exceed the maximum drawdown (10%) or daily loss limit (5%), your evaluation account will be closed. However, this doesn't mean you've failed permanently. You can purchase a new evaluation at any time - many successful traders require multiple attempts before passing. The evaluation fee covers the cost of providing the evaluation account and risk management systems. We recommend reviewing your trading strategy, risk management, and learning from the experience before attempting again. Some traders find it helpful to practice on a demo account first.
Can I reset my evaluation or start over?
Evaluation accounts cannot be reset once trading has begun. If you exceed risk limits, the account is closed and you'll need to purchase a new evaluation. However, if you haven't placed any trades yet, you may be eligible for a refund within 24 hours of purchase (see refund policy). We don't offer account resets because the evaluation is designed to test your real trading skills under actual market conditions. This ensures only qualified traders receive funded accounts, protecting both our capital and maintaining the integrity of the program.
How is my progress tracked during evaluation?
Your progress is tracked in real-time through the EternalTrader platform dashboard. You can monitor: current account balance, profit/loss percentage, remaining profit target, current drawdown percentage, daily loss limit status, phase completion status, and trade history. All metrics update automatically as you trade. You'll receive notifications if you approach any risk limits. The dashboard provides clear visual indicators showing your progress toward Phase 1 and Phase 2 targets, making it easy to track your evaluation status at any time.

Trading Rules & Requirements

Understanding our trading rules and risk management

What are the specific trading rules I must follow?
Risk Limits: Maximum 10% drawdown from starting balance, 5% daily loss limit, must maintain stop-loss orders on all positions.

Profit Targets: Phase 1 requires 8% profit, Phase 2 requires 4% profit from starting balance.

Trading Restrictions: No hedging (opening opposite positions on same instrument), no arbitrage trading, no expert advisors or automated trading systems, no news trading during high-impact events (±2 hours), no overnight positions during evaluation, no account sharing or third-party access.

Position Management: All positions must be closed by market close during evaluation phase. Maximum position sizes apply based on account size and leverage limits.
What is maximum drawdown and how is it calculated?
Maximum drawdown is the largest peak-to-trough decline in your account balance from the highest point reached. It's calculated from your starting balance, not your current balance. For example, on a $15,000 account, if you reach $16,500 (10% profit) then drop to $13,500, your drawdown is $1,500 (10% of starting balance). The 10% limit is absolute - if your account balance falls to $13,500 or below at any point, the account is closed. This protects our capital and ensures disciplined risk management. The drawdown is calculated in real-time and includes both open and closed positions.
What is the daily loss limit and how does it work?
The daily loss limit is 5% of your starting balance, calculated from the account balance at the start of each trading day (00:00 GMT). For a $15,000 account, this means you cannot lose more than $750 in a single trading day. If you reach this limit, all open positions are automatically closed and trading is disabled until the next trading day. This rule prevents catastrophic single-day losses and encourages disciplined trading. The daily loss includes both realized and unrealized losses from open positions. Once the new trading day begins, the limit resets based on your current account balance.
Can I trade during news events and economic releases?
News trading is restricted during high-impact economic events. You cannot open new positions 2 hours before and 2 hours after major economic releases (NFP, FOMC, CPI, GDP, etc.). This restriction applies to all currency pairs and related instruments. However, you can close existing positions at any time. We provide an economic calendar showing restricted trading windows. This rule prevents excessive volatility exposure and ensures fair evaluation conditions. Once funded, some restrictions may be relaxed, but risk management rules still apply. Check our economic calendar for specific event times and restrictions.
What trading strategies are prohibited?
Prohibited Strategies: Hedging (simultaneous long/short positions on same instrument), arbitrage (exploiting price differences between brokers), latency arbitrage, using expert advisors or automated trading bots, copy trading from external sources, martingale or grid trading systems, scalping during news events, and any form of market manipulation.

Allowed Strategies: Technical analysis, fundamental analysis, swing trading, day trading, position trading, trend following, mean reversion, breakout trading, and any manual trading strategy that doesn't violate risk management rules. We encourage diverse trading approaches that demonstrate genuine skill and market understanding.

Markets & Instruments

What you can trade on our platform

What markets and instruments can I trade?
You can trade a wide range of financial instruments through our EternalTrader platform:

Forex: All major, minor, and exotic currency pairs including EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, and 50+ other pairs with competitive spreads.

Commodities: Gold (XAU/USD), Silver (XAG/USD), Oil (WTI, Brent), Natural Gas, and other commodity CFDs.

Indices: S&P 500, NASDAQ, Dow Jones, FTSE 100, DAX, Nikkei 225, and other major global indices.

Stocks: Major stocks from US, European, and Asian markets including Apple, Google, Amazon, Tesla, and hundreds more.

All instruments are available 24/5 (forex) or during respective market hours with real-time pricing and execution.
What leverage is available and how does it work?
Leverage varies by instrument type: Forex pairs up to 1:100, Commodities up to 1:50, Indices up to 1:20, and Stocks up to 1:5. Leverage allows you to control larger positions with less capital, but it also amplifies both profits and losses. For example, with 1:100 leverage on a $15,000 account, you can control positions worth $1,500,000. However, you must maintain sufficient margin to keep positions open. We recommend using leverage conservatively and always using stop-loss orders. Higher leverage doesn't mean better trading - risk management is more important than leverage size.
What are the spreads and trading costs?
We offer competitive spreads with no hidden fees or commissions on most instruments. Typical spreads: Major forex pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD) start from 0.5 pips, Minor pairs from 1.5 pips, Exotic pairs from 3 pips, Gold (XAU/USD) from $0.20 per ounce, Oil from $0.03 per barrel, Indices from 0.5 points, Stocks vary by instrument. Spreads are variable and may widen during volatile market conditions or low liquidity periods. There are no deposit fees, withdrawal fees (beyond payment processor fees), or account maintenance fees. The only cost is the one-time evaluation fee.

Payouts & Profit Sharing

How you get paid for your trading profits

How do payouts work and when do I get paid?
Funded traders receive weekly payouts every Friday with an 80% profit split. Here's how it works: You keep 80% of all realized profits, we keep 20%. There's a minimum payout threshold (typically $100) that must be reached before your first payout. Payout requests are processed automatically each week if you've met the threshold. Payments are sent via your chosen method (bank transfer, PayPal, crypto, etc.) within 1-3 business days after Friday. You can track all payouts in your dashboard with detailed transaction history. Unrealized profits (open positions) are not included until positions are closed.
What is the profit split and how is it calculated?
The profit split is 80% to you, 20% to Eternal Funding on all realized trading profits. For example, if you make $1,000 profit in a week, you receive $800 and we receive $200. The split is calculated on net profits (gross profits minus losses) after all closed positions are settled. The 20% we retain covers platform costs, risk management, capital provision, and operational expenses. This split applies to all funded accounts regardless of account size. Some prop firms offer higher splits (85-90%) but often with stricter rules or higher fees - we believe our 80% split with fair rules provides the best overall value.
What payment methods are available for payouts?
We support multiple payment methods for your convenience: Bank Wire Transfer (5-10 business days, available worldwide), PayPal (1-3 business days, instant for most regions), Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT - 1-5 business days, lowest fees), Skrill (1-3 business days), and Wise (formerly TransferWise) (2-5 business days, competitive rates). You can set your preferred payment method in your account settings. Processing times vary by method and may be longer for first-time payouts due to verification requirements. All payouts are subject to identity verification and anti-fraud checks.
Are there any fees or taxes on payouts?
We don't charge any fees on payouts - you receive your full 80% share. However, payment processors (PayPal, banks, etc.) may charge their standard transaction fees. Cryptocurrency payouts typically have the lowest fees. Regarding taxes: Trading profits are generally considered taxable income in most jurisdictions. You are responsible for reporting and paying taxes on your trading profits according to your local tax laws. We provide transaction statements and tax documents (1099 forms for US traders) to assist with tax reporting. We recommend consulting with a tax professional to understand your specific obligations. Eternal Funding does not withhold taxes - that's your responsibility.
Can I withdraw my profits anytime or are there restrictions?
Payouts are processed weekly on Fridays - you cannot request withdrawals at other times. This weekly schedule ensures efficient processing and allows us to calculate accurate profit splits. There's a minimum payout threshold (typically $100) that must be reached. If your weekly profit is below the threshold, it rolls over to the next week. There are no maximum withdrawal limits - you can withdraw all your profits if desired. However, we recommend maintaining some capital in your account for continued trading. First-time payouts may require additional verification and take longer to process. Regular payouts are typically faster once your account is verified.

Funded Account Management

Managing your funded account and scaling opportunities

What happens after I get funded? How is it different from evaluation?
Once funded, you receive a live trading account with real capital. Key differences: Real Money: You're trading with actual capital, not a demo account. Profit Sharing: You immediately start earning 80% of all profits with weekly payouts. Relaxed Rules: Some restrictions are eased (e.g., overnight positions may be allowed, news trading restrictions may be relaxed). Account Scaling: You can qualify for larger account sizes based on performance. Ongoing Support: Access to dedicated support, performance analytics, and trading resources. Risk Management: You must still maintain drawdown limits, but the focus shifts to consistent profitability rather than passing targets. The account is yours to manage as long as you follow the rules.
What if I lose money on my funded account?
We absorb all losses - your personal money is never at risk. If you exceed the maximum drawdown limit (10% from your funded account balance), the account will be closed, but you don't lose any personal funds. This is one of the key advantages of prop trading versus using your own capital. However, if the account is closed due to rule violations or excessive drawdown, you would need to purchase a new evaluation to get funded again. We recommend maintaining strict risk management to protect your funded account. Many traders view the funded account as a long-term opportunity and trade conservatively to preserve it.
Can I scale up to a larger account size?
Yes! Account scaling is available based on consistent performance. To qualify for a larger account, you typically need to: achieve consistent profitability over 3-6 months, maintain drawdown limits, demonstrate disciplined risk management, and meet minimum profit thresholds. For example, if you start with a $15,000 account and consistently generate profits while following rules, you may qualify for a $30,000 or $60,000 account. Some traders even qualify for accounts beyond $60,000. The scaling process may require a brief re-evaluation or performance review. We want successful traders to have access to more capital - it benefits both you and us. Contact support to discuss scaling opportunities once you've established consistent performance.
Can I have multiple funded accounts?
Yes, you can have multiple funded accounts, but each must be obtained through separate evaluations. You cannot use the same evaluation to fund multiple accounts. Each account is independent with its own balance, drawdown limits, and profit tracking. Having multiple accounts allows you to diversify strategies, manage risk across accounts, and potentially increase total trading capital. However, you must manage each account according to its rules. You cannot transfer funds between accounts or use one account to offset losses in another. Each account requires separate evaluation fees and maintenance. Many professional traders maintain 2-3 funded accounts to maximize their trading opportunities.
